The Investigative Committee organized an investigation into the death of a man in a fire in the Angara region

A fire investigation has been organized in the Irkutsk region, as a result of which a man was killed and two children were injured. This is reported by the regional SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The fire occurred on the evening of June 22 in the village of Biliktui, Usolsky district. According to investigators, the 50-year-old man was on the veranda when he decided to drain the remaining propane from the cylinder and brought a lighter to the valve to check the remaining gas.

A fire started, as a result of which the house burned down completely. The man himself died on the spot from his injuries, two children aged seven and 13 needed medical attention, writes IA IrkutskMedia.

An inspection has been organized under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Causing death by negligence", based on its results, a decision will be made to institute criminal proceedings. All the circumstances of the incident are being established.

Earlier in June, a court in the Pskov region sentenced a local resident for the deaths of three people in a fire caused by careless refueling of a gasoline lighter. The culprit was sentenced to probation.
