The International Maritime Organization (IMO) will launch an evacuation plan for more than 11,000 sailors. stuck in the Middle East region. The Secretary General of the organization, Arsenio Dominguez, announced this on June 23.

"We will begin implementing an evacuation plan for more than 11,000 sailors still in the region. This large—scale operation will be conducted in close cooperation with Iran, Oman, all other coastal states in the region, the United States and the maritime industry," he said on the organization's website.
