FIFA revoked the World Cup commentator's accreditation for criticizing the organization

The International Football Federation (FIFA) has revoked the accreditation of Paraguayan commentator Jorge Vera because of his statements during the group stage match between the national teams of Paraguay and Turkey. This was announced on June 22 by ABC TV channel.

The incident occurred after the removal of Paraguayan player Miguel Almiron, who covered his mouth with his hand during a conversation with an opponent. In a live broadcast, Jorge Vera called the chief referee of the meeting a "thief" and the FIFA president guilty of "killing football." The match ended with a 1-0 victory for Paraguay.

The federation stressed that the decision to revoke accreditation is related to the behavior of a journalist who made unacceptable statements about representatives of the organization.
