Almost 76.7 thousand tons of indoor vegetables have been grown in the Moscow region since the beginning of 2026. The main volume fell on cucumbers and tomatoes — 49 thousand and 26.3 thousand tons, respectively, according to the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

By the end of 2025, the region took the first place in Russia in the production of protected soil vegetables — a total of 132.7 thousand tons were harvested. This area continues to develop.

Besides tomatoes and cucumbers, farmers also grow herbs, peppers, eggplants and other vegetables. Among the industry leaders are Agroculture Group in Kashira, Lukhovitskie Vegetables and Podmoskovye Shopping Center in Voskresensk.

Greenhouse complexes in the region operate all year round, writes the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya. They are equipped with automated climate control and digital technologies.

Earlier it was reported that 7.7 thousand tons of frozen mushrooms and vegetables (except potatoes) were produced in the Moscow region in 2025. In total, the region accounts for 6.6% of the volume produced in Russia.
