There are 23 officially functioning beaches in the Pskov region, nine of them are located on the territory of children's camps. This figure was announced by Igor Zarytovsky, deputy head of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Chief State Inspector for small vessels of the region, on the air of PLN FM (102.6 FM).

Currently, the beach certification is not within the competence of GIMS, but is declarative in nature, the Pskov News feed writes.

"The owner of the beach submits a declaration in which he indicates what measures have been taken to ensure the readiness of this beach, and we take it into account," Zarytovsky explained.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations checks the beaches to see if they receive information about violations, the specialist noted. In this case, the staff of the department may issue an order and suspend the activities of the recreation area.

Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations explained the difference between a swimming beach and a recreation area by the water. At the same time, the ministry recalled that swimming is allowed only in places prepared for this purpose.
