Slutsky topped the Liberal Democratic Party's list for the State Duma elections

On June 23, LDPR Chairman Leonid Slutsky headed the party's federal list for the upcoming elections to the State Duma. The decision was made during the 38th pre-election congress of the party in the Moscow region.

The federal part of the list includes 10 people. In addition to Slutsky, Alexey Vereshchagin, a participant in the special operation (SVO), and Maria Voropayeva, the first deputy head of the LDPR central office, are among the top three. The list also includes Andrei Lugovoy, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, Viktor Bout, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Ulyanovsk Region, and Alexander Kurdyumov, chairman of the Zhirinovsky Bloc movement.

Other federal candidates include Dmitry Zhirkov, a member of the SVO, Dmitry Svishchev, a State Duma deputy, Sergey Kozlov, Russia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Saudi Arabia, and Boris Chernyshov, Deputy speaker of the lower house of parliament.

In total, 435 candidates from the Liberal Democratic Party have been nominated for the State Duma elections. Of these, 224 people are in single—mandate districts.

The party will provide special attention and benefits during the preliminary voting to its veterans.

On the same day, the 38th LDPR Congress in the Moscow region approved the party's election program for the upcoming elections to the State Duma. The party program adopted by the delegates was called "100 Days of Russia's Transformation." According to LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky, the party will defend solutions that will move the country towards development, protect people, and give the authorities genuine responsibility to their citizens.
