A tornado that struck the city of Kushva in the Sverdlovsk region on the evening of June 22, destroyed suburban areas in a few seconds and left dozens of families homeless. Local residents told Izvestia about this on June 23.

According to Alexander Shipitsyn, the tornado passed in just a few seconds. He managed to close the windows, after which debris rattled on the roof, and the power line closed.

"I've never seen anything like this in my life, and I don't want to see it anymore," he said.

Resident Tatiana Kislina said that the tornado completely demolished the roof of the house and carried away the bathhouse in an unknown direction. The gas pipe burst. At the time of the hurricane, her six—year-old grandson was in the house - glass fragments flew at the child, he had to sew up his head.

"This is the first time I've seen it in person in my life. I can't put it into words, it's just awful," the woman shared.

Another resident, Igor Zaitsev, reported that a neighbor's outbuilding collapsed and a sleeper fell on his chest, and the man was hospitalized. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 124 private houses and 15 power lines were damaged as a result of the hurricane, 16 buildings were completely destroyed. A temporary accommodation facility has been deployed in the city, and emergency services are working on site.

In Kushva, on June 23, as a result of the hurricane, at least 132 houses were damaged, 32 of them completely destroyed. More than a quarter of the buildings damaged by the hurricane will not be restored — they are completely destroyed.
