It is being spread in social networks and the media that since July 1 in Russia, responsibility for violations of traffic safety legislation against drivers is allegedly increasing. In particular, we are talking about using a phone while driving and changing the procedure for checking the light transmission of windows. As the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Federation announced on June 23 at Maks, this information is not true.

"We remind you that administrative responsibility in the field of road safety is established by federal legislation. Information on amendments is posted on the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts, and the approved regulatory legal act is published on the official Internet portal of legal information," the department noted.

The State Traffic Inspectorate called on media representatives and Internet figures to check data obtained from unofficial sources and to prevent the dissemination of false and incorrect information misleading the audience, and to use information posted on official Internet resources, including the agency's website, when preparing materials on police activities.

On June 1, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs denied information that appeared in a number of media and online resources about the alleged large-scale inspections of elderly drivers by traffic police officers starting on June 1.
