- Ghalibaf stated that it was impossible to return the administration of Hormuz to the state before the conflict.
The management of the Strait of Hormuz will not return to the state before the conflict with the United States. This was stated on June 22 by the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and the chief negotiator of the Iranian delegation, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
"Everyone should know that the management of the Strait of Hormuz will never return to the state it was in before the war," the IRNA news agency quoted him as saying.
Ghalibaf noted that international rules will be respected, but Iran will manage Hormuz.
On June 22, US President Donald Trump announced that the Strait of Hormuz was fully open. As the US leader noted, the situation in the strait is developing well.
On June 21, Trump threatened Iran with destruction if the Strait of Hormuz was not opened, and with new attacks on it due to the alleged activity of pro-Iranian groups in Lebanon. The relevant statements were made by him at the time when the American-Iranian negotiations were held in Switzerland with the participation of the delegations of Qatar and Pakistan.
