Rosstandart approves GOST for leather goods

Rosstandart has adopted the state standard (GOST) for leather goods, including bags, briefcases, suitcases, folders and other items. This became known on June 23 from data published on the agency's website.

Thus, the requirements for the strength of seams, as well as handles and shoulder straps of bags were established. In particular, the strength of the thread seam for beach bags made of artificial leather should be at least 30 newtons per cm. The same indicator is provided for travel backpacks, whereas for travel suitcases of rigid construction it is higher — at least 40 newtons per cm.
