The State Duma criticized the proposal to withdraw deposits from banks to replenish the budget

The proposal by Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov to withdraw citizens' deposits and business funds from banks to replenish the state budget is a provocation. This was announced on June 22 by Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the financial Market.

During the pre-election congress of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Zyuganov said that 67 trillion rubles of individuals and 63 trillion rubles of enterprises are in banks. According to him, the total amount of 130 trillion rubles is comparable to three state budgets, but these funds "enrich bankers" and are not invested in production.

Aksakov responded by stressing that withdrawing money from the banking system makes no sense, as deposits are a resource for lending to the economy and conducting financial transactions. The parliamentarian called such initiatives nonsense.

"The money that is in deposits and so on is a resource for lending to the economy, for conducting financial transactions. And if they are frozen, taken away, it means depriving the economy of money," he explained to RTVI TV channel.

The head of the State Duma committee also called the authors of such proposals enemies of the country, noting the extreme irresponsibility of statements of this level. According to Aksakov, such provocations are usually launched from abroad, he admitted that the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation could be "specially used."

The MP expressed confidence that the authorities would not take such steps, as the withdrawal of funds from citizens and businesses would deal a critical blow to the management system itself. He recalled the negative experience of the 1990s, stressing that the current leadership of the country understands the consequences of such actions for financial stability, complements "Газета.Ru ".
