Qatar says Netanyahu is provoking escalation in the Middle East

It is not the first time that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has provoked an escalation of tension in the Middle East. This was stated by the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

"Unfortunately, this is not the first time Netanyahu has provoked escalation in the region," he told Al Jazeera television.

The head of the Qatari government called unacceptable "the killing by Israel of about 100 Lebanese in a few days during the ceasefire."

He stressed that Israel's armed actions in Lebanon must stop, and the country's sovereignty "must be respected." At the same time, the Prime Minister noted that the United States is responding correctly towards Israel in Lebanon.

The escalation in the south of the country has called into question Washington's barely reached agreements with Tehran.

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said on June 21 that Israel does not intend to withdraw its troops from the security zone in southern Lebanon, which includes the area of the historic Beaufort Castle. According to him, Beaufort is important for the defense of the Galilee settlements, as well as for the actions of the Israel Defense Forces.

The N12 TV channel reported on June 20 that the Israeli military, participating in an operation against Hezbollah units in Lebanon, had received orders to stop firing.
