Your favorite fairy tale returns to the screens with a spectacular fantasy: on June 27 at 21:00, the viju+ Premiere channel will show a new film version of Pinocchio. The film, in which the main character was created using advanced computer graphics and digital animation technologies, is being released on television screens for the first time.

The film directed by Igor Voloshin is inspired by the much-loved Soviet 1975 film adaptation and enhances the classic tale with modern cinematographic technologies and large-scale visual design. Perhaps the famous wooden boy has never been so realistic.

"Pinocchio" can be considered one of the most technologically advanced Russian paintings of recent times. The main role in the film was played by Vitaliya Kornienko. The actress was filmed in a costume with special sensors. Motion capture and facial expression technology has made it possible to create a digital character that looks like it's alive – this effect has been brought to a modern level of detail when creating James Cameron's Avatar.

The world of the new film version is built as a multidimensional fantasy space: architecture recreating the image of an Italian town of the 19th century, author's costumes and the magic of computer graphics make the familiar story even more magical.

A stellar cast was selected for the film. Fyodor Bondarchuk played the owner of the Karabas-Barabas Theater, a man whose past hides its dark secrets, in a voluminous and convincing way. Alice the fox (Victoria Isakova) and Basilio the cat (Alexander Petrov) added carnival lightness and fun to the film. Svetlana Nemolyaeva appeared in an unexpected image of the fateful and bohemian tortoise Tortilla. They are accompanied by Alexander Yatsenko in the role of Papa Carlo, one of the most sought-after Russian actors of recent years.

Young stars of Russian cinema also starred in Pinocchio – Mark Eidelstein (Artemon), who became famous after the films "One Hundred Years Ago" and "Anora", Ruzil Minekaev (Harlequin), familiar to viewers from the TV series "The Word of a Kid. Blood on the asphalt", and Anastasia Talyzina (Malvina), who played one of the main roles in the film "Air".

Despite the special effects, the film retains the spirit of your favorite fairy tale. However, viewers are offered a film inclusion with new interpretations of familiar characters and plot twists. This is not so much a story about freedom, friendship and victory over greed. In the new version, the restless wooden boy will have to understand what it means to be a real son and a real person, and also realize that it's not a bad thing at all when you're not like everyone else.

Music occupies a special place in the picture. The film features familiar melodies by composer Alexei Rybnikov, which were written for the 1975 film adaptation. However, they received modern processing and sound especially for the new film adaptation.
