New car sales in Russia increased by 27% in a week
According to the results of last week, which was the 25th this year, slightly more than 28 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia. This is 27% more than a week earlier, when sales volumes dropped significantly due to the holidays. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on June 22.
Growth was also recorded in the commercial vehicle segment: the LCV market grew by almost a quarter in a week and reached 1,278 units, but a decline of 13% was recorded compared to the same period last year.
In the truck segment, sales increased by almost a third (+31.6%) to 913 units. At the same time, 1.5% more trucks were sold in the same week last year.
Based on the current weekly statistics, by the end of June, sales of new passenger cars in Russia are expected at the level of May — about 110 thousand units, the expert predicts.
Earlier, on June 19, sales of three models of the revived domestic brand Volga started in Russia. The range includes the C50 sedan, K40 and K50 crossovers. Their production has been established at the plant in Nizhny Novgorod.
