Belarus noted Europe's desire to involve the country in the conflict in Ukraine

European leaders would be interested in involving Belarus in the current conflict in Ukraine and thereby provoking the spread of hostilities on its territory. This opinion was expressed on June 21 by the State Secretary of the country's Security Council, Alexander Volfovich.

"They (the European leaders. We would be happy to involve our country in this conflict so that a fire breaks out on the territory of our country," he said on the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA quotes him as saying.

Volfovich stressed that Minsk is taking measures to communicate its position in the international arena and opposes participation in military conflicts.

On June 19, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky issued an ultimatum to President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, accusing Minsk of allegedly having a military presence near the borders. Zelensky clarified that he requires the Belarusian side to withdraw military equipment, otherwise "Kiev will do it."

The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus (LDPB), a member of the Parliament of Belarus, Oleg Gaidukevich, said on the same day that Zelensky was trying to draw Belarus and the whole of Europe into the conflict. According to the MP, it is pointless to talk with Minsk in the language of ultimatums. He stressed that the republic is aware of the goals of acts of extremism and false statements that are being made against it.

The publication "Country.ua" noted that Zelensky's ultimatum to Minsk may indicate that the scenario of a military invasion of Belarus is being considered. In turn, the British newspaper The Daily Express wrote that the president of Ukraine, with his threats against Belarus, could escalate the conflict.
