The Security Council of Belarus announced the risks of pumping Europe with weapons
Decisions to increase arms supplies by European countries, including to Ukraine, undermine stability and security on the European continent and increase the risks of conflict. This was announced on June 21 by the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, Alexander Volfovich.
"What is happening in Ukraine today is already affecting Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and even Finland. The same unmanned aerial vehicles (Ukraine. — Ed.), which are sponsored by European leaders, fly through the territories of European states, fall," Volfovich said on the Belarus 1 TV channel, as quoted by BelTA.
As the Secretary of the Security Council pointed out, the crossing of the territories of these countries by Ukrainian drones raises security issues among the population. It is noted that new arms supplies, which were previously agreed upon by the G7 countries, can increase tensions and negatively affect strategic stability in the region.
Volfovich also drew attention to the increase in military spending by EU countries, saying that further militarization of Europe would not lead to greater stability, but would only increase the risks of escalation. He stressed that Belarus stands for peaceful dialogue and conflict resolution through diplomatic means, however, in his assessment, European countries are not yet ready for negotiations and are taking actions that contribute to prolonging the situation.
On June 2, the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, announced a shortage of air defense systems and called on Western partners to strengthen military assistance to Ukraine. According to him, European countries need to actively develop their own ballistic defense systems, and the United States needs to increase the supply of missiles for Patriot complexes.
Zelensky said on June 14 that Kiev had asked its Western partners for help with air defense systems after Russian strikes on targets of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was noted that the head of the Kiev regime expects concrete steps during the upcoming summits of NATO and the European Union.
Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Richard Marles said on June 19 that the country would provide Ukraine with another 100 million Australian dollars ($70 million) to purchase weapons and ammunition. It was noted that the allocated funds will be used to purchase critical military equipment through the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) mechanism, created with the support of NATO.
