Regular river routes have been operating in Moscow for three years now. They are becoming increasingly popular among Muscovites and visitors to the capital: since the launch of the first route, passengers have made more than 3.7 million trips on city ships, said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow government for Transport and Industry.

"On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, we continue to develop river traffic in the capital. Since the launch of the first regular electric vessel route as an alternative mode of urban transport, passengers have made more than 3.7 million trips, and the vessels have completed over 170,000 flights. The entire infrastructure for them is environmentally friendly and has zero emissions of harmful substances," Liksutov said.

The city's river transport network was launched in 2023, when Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin launched the first regular electric vessel route, Kievsky — The Heart of the Capital. In 2023, the second ZIL—Pechatniki route was launched, and in 2025, the Novospassky—ZIL route began operating. This year, the capital's fourth river route, Luzhniki — Kievsky, was launched. The Kievsky berth has become a single transport hub between the first and fourth routes.

According to Maxim Liksutov, regular river electric transport has no analogues in the world. The main elements of the vessels, including all the software, are manufactured by Russian companies. Each vessel can accommodate up to 50 passengers.
