Trump threatened Iran with new strikes due to the activity of groups in Lebanon
On June 21, US President Donald Trump announced that Tehran needed to stop the activities of allegedly pro-Iranian groups operating in Lebanon, otherwise it would face new attacks.
"Iran must immediately stop its highly paid proxies (representatives. — Ed.) in Lebanon, so that they don't create problems. If this does not happen, we will hit Iran hard again," he wrote on the Truth Social network.
The American leader, announcing possible attacks on the Islamic Republic, compared them to those carried out by his military last week. Speaking about this, however, he clarified that the new strikes would be even more severe.
At the same time, Iranian-American negotiations are taking place in Switzerland, which are attended by delegations from Qatar and Pakistan. Vice President of the United States Jay D. Vance, who heads the American group, outlined the topics that Washington will discuss with Tehran the day before. In addition to the nuclear program, Lebanon is one of them.
On June 21, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, Ismail Bagai, listed her goals for negotiations with the United States. So, Iran wants to achieve the lifting of sanctions, as well as the end of the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
