British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper has privately called on the country's prime Minister, Keir Starmer, to resign. This was reported on June 21 by Sky News TV channel, citing sources.

"Yvette Cooper told Keir Starmer that he should resign. According to available information, the Foreign Minister, one of the most senior ministers in Starmer's team, conveyed this message to the Prime Minister privately over the weekend," the publication says.

On the same day, The Observer newspaper reported that Starmer could announce his resignation on June 22 amid declining support within the ruling Labour Party. However, the country's Minister of Business and Trade, Peter Kyle, called baseless reports about the possible departure of the British prime minister.

The Politico newspaper reported on June 15 that the European Union and the United States note the decline in Starmer's authority and express concern about the development of relations with London if his successor comes to power. According to the newspaper, in Washington and Brussels, Starmer is appreciated for showing solidarity with Kiev and established contacts with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
