The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine threatened Poland with "mirror steps"

Kiev will mirror all the steps that Warsaw is taking against it. This was announced on June 21 by the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga.

"We will mirror all the steps, especially if these steps are unfriendly, disdainful of our country," the Ukrainian news portal TrueUA quoted him as saying.

Sibiga stressed that now his country "will not turn a blind eye to attacks" that, in its opinion, harm the Ukrainian-Polish strategic cooperation. Warsaw's recent actions, as he explained, contribute to the split of the "European allies."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called Polish President Karol Nawrocki a destroyer of bilateral cooperation. Thus, he commented on the deprivation of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky of the Polish award — the Order of the White Eagle — for his glorification of the UPA (UPA, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned).

Navrotsky stripped Zelensky of his order on June 19. He, in turn, decided to send the award by mail. As a sign of solidarity with the President of Ukraine, its former leader Leonid Kuchma decided to abandon the Order of the White Eagle. The ex-president of Poland ironically dubbed all these steps a "medal war."

Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, commenting on this situation, said on June 20 that Zelensky prefers to engage in regular escalations rather than peacemaking. Later, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, noted that the refusal of the former and current Ukrainian authorities from the Order of the White Eagle indicates their Nazi position.
