A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Zapad group of troops defeated the manpower and equipment of the mechanized and assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the areas of the settlements of Maleevka, Hrushevka, Novy Mir, Kharkiv region, Rubtsy and Volchiy Yar of the DPR. In the village of Krasny Liman, Russian assault troops are advancing in the northwestern part of the city.

Units of the 67th Motorized Rifle Division captured 12 strongholds of the Ukrainian army and cleared 53 buildings of Ukrainian armed formations. During the day, more than 30 militants, a US-made HMMWV armored car with personnel, a pickup truck and four ground-based robotic complexes were destroyed in the city.

In the village of Shchurovo, in the building of a former boarding house, up to 30 militants from the 63rd mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, departing from Krasny Liman, were killed. In total, enemy losses in the Zapad group's area of responsibility amounted to over 210 militants.

In addition, the Southern Group of Troops defeated Ukrainian armed formations in the areas of Pershomaryevka, Kramatorsk, Orekhovatka, Alekseevo-Druzhkovka, Nikolaevka and Nikanorovka settlements of the DPR. In Konstantinovka, units conducted active offensive operations and continued to eliminate scattered groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southwestern part of the settlement. 104 buildings were liberated from Ukrainian militants during the day.

"The units of the Vostok group of forces have advanced into the depth of the enemy's defenses. The manpower and equipment of two mechanized, two assault, five amphibious assault brigades, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a marine brigade were defeated in areas of settlements <...> in the Dnipropetrovsk region, <...>..> Zaporozhye region. The enemy lost up to 500 soldiers," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated the infrastructure of a military airfield, oil refining facilities, fuel, energy and transport infrastructure of Ukraine, fuel depots used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, logistics centers, a workshop for the production and assembly of long-range drones, their storage sites, temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 147 districts.

In turn, air defense systems shot down eight guided aerial bombs and 483 aircraft-type drones. The forces of the Black Sea Fleet in the southwestern part of the Black Sea destroyed four unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 166,310 UAVs, 662 anti-aircraft missile systems, 29,865 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,745 multiple rocket launchers, 35,440 field artillery and mortars, 64,593 pieces of special vehicles.
