Olympic champions in different disciplines converged on the same venue in Moscow and became the focus of attention of hundreds of fans who came to celebrate International Olympic Day. On his occasion, a grandiose sports festival was organized in the capital on June 20, where everyone could try their hand at different disciplines.

At the opening ceremony, Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev mentioned the successful return of our athletes to the international stage, stressing that their achievements are an integral part of the history of world sports.

"The process of restoring the rights of our athletes and restoring justice will continue. I am sure that the Olympic values, to which our country is faithful, will triumph all over the planet Earth. Russia stood at the origins of the Olympic movement, and over the 115 years of our activity, the [Russian] Empire, the Soviet Union, and Russia have won more than 2,000 medals — all of this, of course, is in the treasury of the global sports movement," Degtyarev emphasized.

It was possible to join the big sports festival near the house. Those who did not get to the main venue near the Kremlin had the opportunity to start the day with morning exercises, which were conducted by our champions in different districts of the capital, as well as throughout the country.

On June 4, the head of the Ministry of Sports informed Izvestia that the Russian Federation plans to compete at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles with a full-fledged national team. According to Degtyarev, the situation with winter sports is more complicated, but Russia will "fight" for the rights of athletes everywhere.
