The State Duma announced the appointment of an insurance pension from 2027 automatically

Starting from January 1, 2027, an old-age insurance pension can be awarded automatically without submitting an application from a citizen. This was announced on Saturday, June 21, by Ekaterina Stenyakina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

The deputy explained that the draft law of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation has already been published for public discussion.

"The main point of the proposed changes is that citizens will no longer apply to the Social Fund of Russia and collect documents for pension registration," Stenyakina explained in an interview with RIA Novosti.

She recalled that currently, in order to receive payments, it is necessary to submit an application in person, through the MFC or the Gosuslugi portal. According to the new draft, the Social Fund will independently decide on the appointment of payments 30 days before a person reaches retirement age based on the data available in the systems. The notification of the pension appointment will be received by the citizen within three working days.

According to Stenyakina, this procedure will affect both those who retire in the general order (at age 60 for women and 65 for men) and privileged categories, including mothers with many children and parents of children with disabilities.

"The exception is citizens with periods of work abroad — their pensions will require confirmation of foreign seniority, so automatic appointment will not be applied," the deputy stressed.

The condition for automatic accrual of payments will be the presence of at least 15 years of insurance experience and 30 pension points. Stenyakina added that the new measure is designed to save Russians from unnecessary bureaucratic red tape.
