During a search in a Paris suburb, police officers discovered a stolen painting by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, estimated to cost tens of millions of euros. Actu17 portal reported this on June 20, citing sources.

"The original Pablo Picasso painting, estimated at tens of millions of euros, was discovered on Monday, June 15, during searches conducted in the Val de Marne department as part of an investigation into drug trafficking," the publication says.

The title of the work is not specified in the interests of the investigation. It is known that the painting was previously stolen from a private or public repository in Paris. In addition to the artwork, during the operational activities, the police seized about 20 kg of hashish, luxury clothing worth hundreds of thousands of euros and 7 thousand euros in cash.

Earlier, on April 28, it was reported that employees of the Federal Customs Service, the FSB and the Interior Ministry detained a French citizen who stole a collection of gold coins worth more than 53 million rubles from the Saint-Remy Museum and sold them in Moscow. Anthony Castelein, 29, worked at the historical museum. Using his official position, he took out some of the gold coins from the time of the Roman Empire and the reign of Napoleon III.
