- Vucic announced that only 3 thousand people had come to the protest action in Novi Sad.
In the Serbian city of Novi Sad, only about 3,000 people took part in the protest action. This was announced on June 20 by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
"Some expected 20, 30 thousand people in Novi Sad tonight. At 17:30 (18:30 Moscow time) there were 3.3 thousand. Let it be 5, 6, 7 thousand from all over Vojvodina (an autonomous region centered in Novi Sad. — Ed.), half of Serbia. Nothing. Literally nothing," the Pink TV channel reports his words.
It is specified that students and opposition supporters took part in the protest.
On March 23, Izvestia published footage of a column of students and opposition supporters in Belgrade who gathered at Slavia Square to commemorate the 16 victims of the collapse of the canopy at the railway station in 2024. Police Director Dragan Vasilyevich said that more than 34,000 people had visited the protest site in Serbia. At the same time, the organization "Archive of Public Meetings" wrote on the social network X (former. Twitter) about 100 thousand protesters.
Izvestia also showed footage of mass protests in Serbia on April 1 against the background of a police investigation into the death of a student at the University of Belgrade. At the same time, the rallies also have a political reason. It is noted that the incident with the death of a 25-year-old girl occurred on March 27. A student fell out of the window of one of the buildings of the educational institution.
