- A technical launch of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelsk metro line was carried out in Moscow.
The technical launch of the first section of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line under construction has taken place in Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.
This section includes five stations — "Business Center" and "Shelepikha", which previously operated as part of the BCL, as well as three new ones — "Zvenigorodskaya", "People's Militia" and "General Karbyshev Boulevard".
As the mayor explained in his channel in Maks, as part of the technical launch, the condition of tunnels, tracks and equipment, engineering networks and installed systems is being checked. "The movement of a test locomotive has been organized along the new section — the operability of automation, telemechanics and train traffic control devices, traction network devices, train and dispatching radio communications is being evaluated. The stations' life support systems are also being checked," Sobyanin wrote.
According to the test results, engineering systems and devices will be adjusted at stations and in tunnels. Passenger traffic is scheduled to begin in September, after which "another metro line, the 17th, will appear on the map of the capital," the mayor noted.
According to Sobyanin, the launch site of the new radius will improve transport services for residents of Presnensky, Khoroshevo-Mnevniki, Shchukino, Dorogomilovo, Filevsky Park districts, where more than 550 thousand people live. "Trips to the center will become twice as fast. Passengers will have access to convenient and fast transfers to the MCC and three metro lines: Solntsevskaya, Filevskaya and Bolshaya Koltsevaya," he stressed.
Earlier in June, Sobyanin announced plans to extend the Filevskaya and Sokolnicheskaya metro lines. Filevskaya will increase by about 12 kilometers and reach Skolkovo. Sokolnicheskaya line will be extended to Yaroslavsky district. "We plan that with the extension of the lines, the intervals on them will become more comfortable," Sobyanin said. According to him, they will be reduced to 1.5 minutes on Sokolnicheskaya Street and 3 minutes on Filevskaya Street.
