One of the girls who was in the Krasnodar West Mall in Krasnodar, where the attack on the Multifunctional Center (MFC) took place, saw the attacker pouring some liquid there. The mother of an eyewitness told Izvestia about this on May 20.

"She (the daughter. — Ed.) was there. She's <...> i saw a guy pouring liquid, setting it on fire, and that's it," Oksana shared.

Another woman who witnessed the incident added in a conversation with Izvestia that the tragedy began to develop at about 14:00 Moscow time and lasted about half an hour. At that time, she and others around her heard "shooting," some knocks, "a heart-rending child's scream," and even a very strange clap.

The interlocutor of Izvestia added that after the incident, an evacuation was announced in the building. The notification was made using loudspeakers.

The attack on the Krasnodar MFC "Izvestia" was reported by a source on the same day. It was noted that an attacker armed with a knife injured six people, one of whom later died. The criminal was detained and taken to a medical facility. At the same time, the regional prosecutor's office organized an inspection of the incident, and response measures will be taken based on its results. A criminal case has been opened.
