Three tourists died due to the heat in the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. This was reported on June 19 by NBC News with reference to the park's press service.
"The death occurred as a result of two separate incidents on June 12 and 16 on trails in the inner part of the canyon of the park," the Grand Canyon TV channel cites a press release.
It is specified that the dead tourists were two men aged 72 and 67, as well as a 68-year-old woman.
According to the park's press service, the cause of their deaths was heat stroke.
Sky News reported on May 28 that 11 people died while swimming in the UK due to record heat. The Royal National Aquatic Rescue Society (RNLI) has warned of the high danger of swimming in open water in the heat.
