A hotel caught fire in the Dominican Republic
In the Dominican city of Bayahibe, a fire broke out at the Viva Dominicus Beach by Wyndham Hotel. This was reported on June 19 by the newspaper El Nacional.
The fire started in the daytime in the lobby of the hotel complex. After the incident, staff and tourists were evacuated. People were taken to safe areas, including the beach area.
Fire protection and emergency services units arrived at the scene. Employees of the competent authorities are working to contain the fire so that the flames do not spread to other parts of the building.
ABC Television and Radio Corporation reported on June 18 that a large warehouse fire had occurred in Los Angeles - authorities urged people to find shelter. It is specified that two helicopters are involved in extinguishing the fire. The Los Angeles Police Department is on tactical alert.
