The Russian Embassy in Moldova reported on June 19 that a Russian citizen faced pressure and restriction of freedom from local competent authorities while passing through customs and passport control.

"Russian consular officials are still not granted access to their citizen. Without a clear explanation of the reasons and providing comprehensive legal grounds, the Russian citizen was denied the opportunity to leave the territory of the Republic of Moldova," the Telegram channel said.

It is noted that the Russian was faced not with the usual control procedure, but with prolonged pressure, which included harsh interrogations and provocative questions, which subsequently led to serious consequences.

Alexey Klimov, Director of the Consular Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on June 16 that Russian citizens who have planned trips to countries that are part of the European Union (EU) should be aware of the risks of encountering possible detentions there on various pretexts. Klimov urged his compatriots to carefully weigh the expediency of entering the EU and take into account a number of recommendations for obtaining a visa and passing border control.
