The State Duma reported on the possibility of schoolchildren to receive additional points for the Unified State Exam for volunteering

Starting from September 1, 2026, it is planned to include volunteer activities in the framework of the "Individual Project" subject in the curriculum for students in grades 10-11. Participants in such events will be able to earn additional points that will add to the results of the Unified State Exam (USE). Nikita Chaplin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes, announced this on June 19.

According to him, the students will participate in the program "Ministry Training. Firsts" and perform social tasks for non-profit organizations, government agencies, and social businesses.

"Volunteering provides concrete and measurable benefits. For the successful protection of a social project, students can receive up to 25 volunteer hours on the Dobro.rf platform. They are converted into additional points for the Unified State Exam — depending on the university, you can get one to ten points above those already scored," the expert explained in a conversation with News.ru .

He specified that the projects will be related to environmental initiatives, assistance to the elderly and the development of social services. They may take from 70 to 140 hours to complete. According to the MP, such activities will also help students to form a portfolio for receiving grants, scholarships and subsequent employment.

As Maria Lvova-Belova, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, noted on June 19, the number of applications for the Unified State Exam has significantly decreased this year compared to previous years. According to her, this year's exam campaign is taking place in a calm atmosphere, although in 2025 it was noticeably more intense.
