Work on the restoration of the Dneprovskaya main power transmission line feeding the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) began on Friday, June 19, and may take several days, the press service of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) informs.

"Repair work on the 750 kV Dneprovskaya main line feeding the nuclear power plant began today as part of a local ceasefire," the agency's website says.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi noted that the repair of the plant's main transmission line is a significant step towards ensuring nuclear safety. He pointed out that the restoration of power lines is very difficult from a technical point of view.

"The restoration of the 750 kV transmission line will provide the NPP with a more reliable external power supply and reduce its current vulnerability after several power outages outside the plant in recent weeks," said Grossi.

On the same day, Grossi declared the inadmissibility of attacks on nuclear power plant personnel and called for their continued protection. This is how he commented on the new attacks in Energodar, during which an employee of the NPP was killed.

On the morning of June 19, the ZAES transport workshop was subjected to a massive drone attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It was noted that the strikes had been launched since the evening of June 18. In total, at least 14 incidents were recorded. The events forced the management of the station to temporarily reduce the number of its employees, as the shift shift took place under fire. A day earlier, the management of the facility reported the death of an employee as a result of an APU strike on an energy depot.

Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's Permanent Representative to international organizations in Vienna, on June 19, in a conversation with Izvestia after the new attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the station, pointed out the West's indifference to Kiev's actions.
