On the Day of the dog handler, on June 21, the festival "A dog is a friend in the service of the Fatherland" will be held on Kola Street. The event, organized as part of the Pets in Moscow project, will be one of the events of the "Friend, Rescuer, Defender" urban event cycle.
Visitors to the site will be able to see service dogs, which are attracted to work in the capital's headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Customs Service, the Russian Guard, and the emergency rescue squad No. 6 of the Moscow Police Station. In addition, the festival will feature animals that were trained at the legendary school of service dog breeding, the Krasnaya Zvezda kennel.

Guests will also be able to see demonstrations by dog training units and listen to experts' stories about the abilities of dogs and the process of their preparation for service. The dog training park will show how dogs search for hidden objects, practice on simulators and follow commands.
A separate program will be prepared by the Center for the Development of mobility, Inclusion and rehabilitation of MIR. Experts will talk about the training of dogs that help people with disabilities, as well as their participation in sports and creative projects.

In addition, guests will be able to chat with professional dog handlers and learn, for example, how to start training.

During the day, the dog park will have a grooming area and a veterinary office, where you can get free veterinary advice: ask questions about proper nutrition, vaccination and prevention.

The organizers have prepared game activities, master classes, contests and quizzes for children.
