A noticeable change in weather conditions is expected in Moscow in the coming days. Prolonged rains will give way to more stable summer weather with short-term precipitation and thunderstorms. Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, told Izvestia about this on June 22.

According to her, the sedentary Atlantic cyclone, which determined the weather in the metropolitan region in June and brought prolonged precipitation, has already begun to shift.

"The cyclone that brought us inclement weather, it shifted to the east under the influence of the crest of the anticyclone," the forecaster explained.

Towards the end of June, Pozdnyakova specified, the weather conditions will form an area of increased atmospheric pressure. This will lead to more typical midsummer weather.

"The weather will be so typical, summery, with short-term rains. Thunderstorm activity may develop, as it does in summer," she noted.

The weather forecaster added that the temperature background in Moscow and the region will approach the climatic norm. According to preliminary estimates, in the last days of June, daytime values will be in the range of +20 +...25 degrees, which corresponds to the long-term average. At the same time, no sudden temperature fluctuations are expected.

Speaking about the prospects until the end of the month, the specialist stressed that at the moment there is no final forecast. Nevertheless, the existing models do not indicate either a significant cooling or a return of abnormal heat. According to her, the weather conditions will generally remain comfortable for the residents of the city.

Pozdnyakova also noted that with the onset of astronomical summer, on the Day of the Summer Solstice on June 21, the air will continue to gradually warm up, despite the recent period of bad weather. This will help to establish a more stable heat.
