The weather forecaster announced the weather forecast for the coming July
The weather in July will largely depend on the change in atmospheric processes, while stable warming may not occur at the beginning of the month, and the current cool and rainy trend may continue. Anatoly Tsygankov, Head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Service's Crisis Management Department, told Izvestia about this on June 22.
According to the expert, the cool weather in the middle and end of June is due to the influence of the sedentary Atlantic cyclone, which continues to determine atmospheric processes. He explained that a sudden change in weather conditions should not be expected in the near future, since the circulation of air masses remains the same.
"But the flow will change, and it may get warmer dramatically. But now this change of flow is not visible. That is, while there will be a gradual warming, there will be an attempt to heat up a little bit. But it's hard to say what will happen in July," the forecaster said.
Tsygankov stressed that the dominance of cold air prevents the arrival of warm masses. According to him, denser and heavier cold air literally blocks warming, contributing to the formation of clouds and precipitation.
"While the cold is standing, the heat may not come to us, because the cold air is denser, heavier, and it does not allow warm air masses. And a cyclone is always low pressure, it's always clouds and rains," he explained.
The specialist of the Hydrometeorological Center noted that in the current conditions, the return of hot weather is not expected. According to him, the rainy and relatively cool weather may persist for at least another one or two weeks - until the beginning of July.
However, the expert recalled that July is traditionally considered the warmest month of the year. After the summer solstice, which falls on June 21, the earth's surface and air continue to actively warm up, and this gradually leads to an increase in temperatures.
"The heat peak, as a rule, falls on the period from July 16 to July 23. However, the middle of summer is characterized not only by high temperatures. Thunderstorms, heavy rains and high humidity are often observed at this time, which is associated with a complex of natural processes characteristic of midsummer," the forecaster explained.
The expert stressed that weather conditions can vary significantly from year to year. According to him, all forecasts for July are still preliminary, and more accurate data will appear closer to June 30.
