Sechin announced Rosneft's place in global hydrocarbon production
According to the results of last year, Rosneft retained the second place in the world in terms of hydrocarbon production among public companies. This was announced by the head of the company, Igor Sechin, speaking at a meeting of the general meeting of shareholders in the city of Bolshoy Kamen in the Far East.
According to him, the production of hydrocarbons in liquid equivalent has reached 247 million tons of oil equivalent.
"We remain Russia's largest oil company and produce almost 40% of Russian oil. Rosneft's share in Russian refining is about 30%, and the gas station network is the largest in the country," the head of the company emphasized.
The volume of gas production last year amounted to 79.6 billion cubic meters, which is lower than in 2024. This is due, in particular, to planned repairs on key assets. At the same time, after their completion in the fourth quarter of 2025, gas production increased by 4% year-on-year and continued to grow in 2026.
The head of the company also spoke about Rosneft's leading positions in the field of resource base development. Last year, six new fields and 112 deposits with hydrocarbon reserves of more than 250 million tons of oil equivalent were discovered. The replenishment of production with an increase in reserves amounted to 122%. "At the same time, the company, unlike many international competitors, is provided with reserves for almost half a century ahead," Sechin added.
