The Liberal Democratic Party proposed to expand the grounds for recognizing ITS participants as disabled

The Liberal Democratic Party proposed to expand the list of military injuries and their consequences, which are taken into account when determining disability for participants in a special military operation (SVO). This was stated by party member, war correspondent and public figure Isabella Lieberman to Izvestia during the All-Russian Patient Forum, which the Liberal Democratic Party held on June 19 in Moscow.

The event brought together the medical and patient community to identify the most pressing problems of Russian healthcare and find solutions to them.

"Before our eyes, over the past few years, the nature of warfare has changed dramatically under the influence of technological progress, the current medical standards and criteria for assessing military injuries are lagging behind in many ways, which means there is an urgent need to introduce changes. To date, the current system does not fully take into account the specifics of modern combat injuries typical of a special military operation," said the LDPR member.

Because of this, the Liberal Democratic Party proposes to make comprehensive changes to the regulatory legal acts governing the procedure for establishing disability for military personnel and participants in their military operations. In particular, according to Lieberman, it is necessary to expand the list of military injuries, their consequences and diseases that develop due to injuries or are acquired during service.

In addition, the party insists on introducing a separate procedure for assessing the consequences of mine-explosion injuries as the most common and insidious type of combat damage.

"And thirdly, it is extremely important to ensure absolute uniformity of law enforcement practice when conducting medical and social expertise throughout the country. Our main goal is to achieve the most objective assessment of the loss of health and to ensure that every fighter receives the full amount of state and social support measures," Lieberman stressed.

Alexey Dyumin, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation and Secretary of the State Council, said on May 29 that improving the system of medical and social rehabilitation of CBR participants remains one of the key tasks of the state. The Secretary of the State Council also stated the need for closer cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and civilian departments. It should include a rapid exchange of information so that assistance to the participants of the SVR is provided "without delay."
