The State Duma proposed to introduce a tax deduction for weddings as a "gift from the state"

In Russia, it was proposed to provide the newlyweds with the opportunity to reimburse part of the costs of the wedding with the help of a tax deduction from the amount of up to 400 thousand rubles. This was announced on June 19 by the leader of the New People party, Alexei Nechaev.

According to the MP, such a support measure could become a kind of "wedding gift" from the state and contribute to the creation of new families.

"A wedding is a big expense, it's a great joy, the young people are happy, they have a touching moment, but it all costs a lot of money. Therefore, we proposed to make a deduction, at least in such a small amount — 400 thousand rubles," Nechaev said in an interview with TASS.

Applying a tax deduction to expenses of up to 400,000 rubles at a base personal income tax rate of 13% will allow a married couple to return up to 52,000 rubles from previously paid taxes.

Earlier, on June 18, it was reported that a bill was submitted to the State Duma proposing to grant citizens the right to receive a social tax deduction for consulting psychologists working outside medical organizations. The initiator of the project was the New People faction, led by Vice Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov.
