President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is closely monitoring the investigation into the circumstances of the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a bus with children in the Bryansk region. This was announced on June 18 by Alexander Volfovich, Secretary of State of the Republic's Security Council, on the First Information TV channel.

"He keeps this fact under personal, strictest control, because it is related to the safety and health of our citizens," the BelTA news agency quoted Volfovich as saying.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a bus carrying a children's football team from Gomel to Gelendzhik on June 17. The victim of the tragedy was one person, a woman who turned out to be the wife of one of the coaches. According to the latest information, eight people were injured.

The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case on a terrorist act following the strike. Information about the incident was brought to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, which demanded an explanation from Kiev. In addition, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered urgent assistance to all those affected.
