A criminal case has been opened in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District over the deaths of four people as a result of a boat capsizing. This is reported by the Central Interregional SU on Transport of the Russian Investigative Committee.

The tragedy occurred on the night of June 10 in the waters of the Gulf of Ob. The motorboat "Allur 43", which was traveling from the mouth of the Nadym River towards the village of Nyda in the Nadym district, capsized.

According to the investigation, the skipper and his three passengers were in the boat at the time of the incident. The body of one of them, a man born in 1992, was discovered 30 km from Nyda during search and rescue operations. The search for the remaining men continues, but taking into account the circumstances, the UK is already talking about the onset of their death.

Investigators believe that the rollover occurred due to an emergency situation that arose due to disregard of safety measures for passenger transportation. As a result, the boat capsized, people ended up in the water and drowned. According to the <url> news agency, the boat itself was found upside down on June 14, 15 km from the village of Nyda, after which the search for the people who sailed on it began.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic safety and operation rules for inland waterway transport, which negligently resulted in the death of two or more persons." All circumstances are being established.
