The Murmansk region will receive additional funds for the care and support of patients with diabetes mellitus. The money will arrive in the region in the second half of 2026.

According to Bi-port news agency, 17.4 million rubles are intended to provide children and pregnant women with continuous glucose monitoring systems.

Children aged two to 17 with type I diabetes and pregnant women with a confirmed diagnosis are already receiving these devices. Assistance has been provided since 2024 within the framework of the federal project "Combating diabetes mellitus". The new funding is allocated as a continuation of the implementation of this program.

The Regional Ministry of Health informs that more than 350 residents of the Arctic region use continuous monitoring systems. Children and women who need these devices are already provided with them.

On June 8, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that the Russian government would allocate 5 billion rubles to help people with diabetes. This will provide systems for over 50,000 children and tens of thousands of expectant mothers. According to the Prime minister, the government is working within the framework of the national project "Long and active Life", providing children and adolescents with type I diabetes, as well as pregnant women with the opportunity to receive continuous glucose monitoring systems for free.
