ZAES will inform the IAEA about the death of an employee at the station

The leadership of the Zaporizhia NPP will inform the IAEA inspectors at the station about the death of an employee as a result of an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on an energy depot. This was announced on June 18 by Evgenia Yashina, Director of Communications at ZAES.

"Of course, we will inform the IAEA staff," she said in an interview with TASS.

As a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks on Energodar on June 17, one person was killed and three others were injured. Maxim Pukhov, the mayor of the city, said that the strikes were carried out in the area of the railway station and in a residential area.

Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom State Corporation, added on June 18 that the safety of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe directly depended on the deceased employee. He also stressed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have moved to the targeted and systematic killing of employees of the NPP.
