The head of the Belgian Ministry of Defense proposed to transfer all F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine

Belgium will transfer seven F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, and will also discuss the transfer of all its remaining fighters to Kiev. This was announced by Belgian Defense Minister Theo Franken at a meeting of NATO defense ministers on June 18.

"I will propose to the government to send all our F-16s to Ukraine in the coming years. It depends on getting the F-35 into service, because, of course, we play a role in the NATO nuclear doctrine. So before we can transfer the F-16, we have to get the F-35. But the first F-16s will go," he said.

He explained that Brussels has already agreed to send seven fighters to Kiev, as well as four sets of spare parts necessary for their operation.

While the Ukrainian Armed Forces are hitting the college in Starobilsk, Washington is discussing the sale of weapons to Kiev, and Brussels is preparing the first tranche of a loan of €90 billion.

Polish Deputy Defense Minister Cesary Tomczyk said on June 15 that Warsaw would not supply Kiev with MiG-29 fighters until the Ukrainian side in exchange transferred information and technologies for the production and fight against drones. He clarified that such an agreement with Ukraine has been and has not yet been fulfilled by the Kiev regime.

The Aftonbladet newspaper reported on May 27 that Sweden is working on the issue of strengthening the Ukrainian Air Force, including the supply of Saab JAS 39 Gripen multirole fighters. In addition, negotiations on the sale of more modern JAS 39E fighters are planned to begin in the near future. Ukraine will pay for these planes with a loan from the European Union.
