As part of the Russia—ASEAN Business Forum, the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center presented an exhibition that has no analogues in Russia and is part of the historical and ethnographic project "Traditional Costume of the peoples of the Kazan Volga region of the second half of the XIX - first half of the XX century", which was successfully implemented in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2022-2024 with the support of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The purpose of the exhibition is to show the diversity of traditional costume as the richest cultural heritage of the peoples living in Tatarstan. The exhibition will be continued and will be presented at the International Peoples of Russia Week, which will be held in Moscow this year in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation. The operator of the International Week "Peoples of Russia" is the Roscongress Foundation.

"During the Russia—ASEAN Business Forum and Summit, we have a unique opportunity to demonstrate to our guests the richness of the culture of the First Nations living in the Republic of Tatarstan. The exhibition recreates the unique costume complexes of the urban and rural population of the peoples of the Volga region (Russians, Tatars, including the Kryashen and Mishar Tatars, Bashkirs, Mari, Mordvins, Udmurts and Chuvash) the second half of the XIX – the first half of the XX century. Many elements of costume complexes (clothes, jewelry, accessories) are made by hand. The exhibition of more than 30 costume complexes is a real museum of the ethnocultural heritage and diversity of the multinational people of Russia, which acquires additional relevance in the Year of Unity of Peoples," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.

Two volumes of illustrated catalogues, published with a broader presentation of traditional clothing in the native languages of the peoples of the Volga region, became an informational and methodological addition to the exhibition. They became the first illustrated methodological manuals in this field and arouse great interest among the ethnographic community, cultural scientists, and masters of the entire Volga region.
