The memorandum between the United States and Iran is a historic event. This was announced on June 18 by the President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Peseshkian.
"This is a historical document and a message from a strong Iran: peace will become real with mutual respect," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
According to the Iranian leader, the country remains committed to "world peace," while Iran intends to continue to maintain its independence and regional cooperation.
The United States and Iran signed a memorandum on the cessation of hostilities on June 18, the parties did it remotely. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bagai also confirmed that the text of the agreement was officially signed by the presidents of both sides. At the same time, Trump stressed the day before that the United States would resume bombing Iran if no final agreement was reached within 60 days, as indicated in the memorandum.
