In May 2026, 4,989 new plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) were sold in Russia, which is 103% more than in the same month last year. This was reported on June 18 by the analytical agency Autostat. The share of such machines in the Russian market increased from 2.7% to 4.5% over the year.

The most popular brand in the PHEV segment was the Voyah brand, which sold 1,628 vehicles in a month, which is almost a third of the total. The Geely brand is in second place (923 units), followed by Evolve (437 units) and GAC (395 units). At the same time, the Lixiang brand, which became the leader last year, turned out to be only the fifth (314 units) at the end of spring.

Among the plug-in hybrids, the Voyah Free crossover turned out to be a bestseller, which sold 1,274 copies in May. The top five also includes Geely EX5 EM-i (746 units), Evolve i-Space (437 units), GAC S7 (385 units) and Exlantix ET (293 units).

In total, 24.6 thousand new PHEV segment vehicles were sold in Russia in the first five months of 2026. This is 125% more than in January — May 2025, the agency estimates.

The day before, it was reported that a new Neus car brand may appear in Russia, and its first model will be the V27 hybrid crossover from the Chery concern, which was originally announced to debut on the Russian market under the iCaur brand.
