AvtoVAZ has started implementing machine vision technologies in the production of cars, while this is a pilot project. The company's press service told about this in its Telegram channel on June 18.

An intelligent computer vision system from the Russian developer VisionLabs is installed on the conveyor. She checks the stickers with the VIN number on the car body for correctness and absence of inconsistencies.

Video analytics based on computer vision allows you to check the match of the sticker and the engraving with the VIN number, as well as the quality and integrity of the sticker itself, which is important when registering a car.

At the first stage, the system works with Lada Aura and Vesta models. Later, it is planned to scale it to other models, as well as expand video analytics scenarios for quality control in production: detecting leaks, searching for inconsistencies at various stages of assembly, process control, and more.

Earlier, on June 16, it was reported that since 2022 AvtoVAZ, together with suppliers, has localized 1,825 automotive components and materials for Lada cars. Another 54 components are in the process of localization.
