The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the conduct of official inspections of all shopping malls

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will conduct official inspections in all territorial recruitment centers (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office), the decision was made after an urgent meeting with the command of the ground forces on incidents of violence in the Odessa shopping mall. This was announced on June 17 by Deputy Defense Minister Mstislav Banik.

Facebook post (owned by Meta, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) says: "Following the meeting, official checks will be carried out in all shopping malls, to study as thoroughly as possible the treatment of citizens regarding illegal detentions, violence and other illegal actions."

Banik stressed that such incidents confirm the criticality of the TCK reform. According to him, the functions of the centers should be distributed among other institutions. In addition, the hubs in which the militants will wait for the passage of the military medical commission should be as comfortable and humane as possible, as well as have round-the-clock video recording and monitoring of interaction with citizens at all stages.

Associate Professor of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Reserve Colonel Alexander Perendzhiev, expressed the opinion on June 16 that clashes between Kiev residents and representatives of the Shopping Center could develop into organized resistance. According to the expert, a kind of institution of resistance to the TCC is gradually being formed and consolidated in Ukrainian society.

On the same day, the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine stated that employees of the shopping mall in the Odessa region, wishing to improve their performance, organized a criminal scheme to force men to mobilize through psychological torture and illegal detention. It was noted that the corresponding mechanism was developed by six TCK officials.

On June 17, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov noted that the country recognizes citizens' dissatisfaction with the mobilization process and the work of recruitment centers. According to him, the issue needs to be transformed, and in this regard, it was decided to motivate service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine with salaries and the opportunity to receive a postponement after the end of the contract service period.
