Families with children should not follow links from messages about payments allegedly due to them, as fraudsters can gain access to bank accounts and accounts of citizens on the Gosuslugi portal. This was announced on Thursday, June 18, by State Duma Deputy Dmitry Svishchev.

The parliamentarian recalled that on June 1, the Social Fund began accepting applications for personal income tax refunds from 13% to 6% for families with two or more children. According to him, the attackers are using information about the new support measure to send fake notifications and phishing links.

"The most dangerous thing about this scheme is that it disguises itself as real government support. You receive an SMS message: "our family has approved an annual payment, follow the link so that the money does not burn out." You go over, and a website opens, one-on-one similar to Gosuslugi. Enter your username, password, and text message code. All. Your account is in the hands of scammers," Svishchev said in an interview with TASS.

He noted that the main target of the attackers were families with two or more children who are waiting to receive the necessary support measures. The deputy noted that the attackers are playing on the haste and trust of citizens in government payments.
