Cook announced a forced price increase for Apple products
The American technology company Apple will be forced to raise the prices of its own products to compensate for the sharp increase in the cost of memory chips and storage devices. This was announced on June 17 by Tim Cook, CEO of the company.
"Unfortunately, price increases are inevitable," he told The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
Cook stressed that the company is doing everything possible to mitigate price increases, but the situation has become "unsustainable."
The WSJ newspaper reported on May 19 that Apple uses processors with minor defects when creating budget products, redistributing them due to production features. As supply chain analyst Tim Callan notes, this practice allows the company to reduce costs and use production waste more efficiently.
